Holding On

Sometimes I miss the way things were. I know this is futile because time is always moving forward, but as I gain traction I realize there’s really no going back. The living of life moves in one direction and getting nostalgic or longing for the past is not only impractical, it can end up being a huge waste of time.

Mourning has its place, but what’s done is done. The most any of us can do is pick up the pieces from before and find a way to rearrange them for our present and on into our future.
